MAN COMMITS SUICIDE FOR DEBT WITH ONLINE LENDING APP

 A 30 year old man, Mr. Solomon Ayindi from Kakamega county shocked his fellow villagers and neighbours after committing suicide following a debt he had with an online lender.

His neighbours say they found his body hanging from the ceiling of his house yesternight( Saturday night)

The deceased family said Mr. Solomon had been stressed due to a 30,000 loan he had taken from a digital lender which he had manage to pay only a portion and had failed to complete his payment due to the harsh eceonomic times in the country.

Kenyans have in the recent times found themselves borrowing money from all sources available especially in this corona stricken times,, just as a means of survival. This is because many of the Kenyans have become jobless ever since the pandemic struck while others have lost money in businesses. 

On the other hand, some lenders have been lenient with their clients and even extended their loan periods while others continue to pester their clients with daily messages and calls to pay up

The deceased will be buried inside his house and the house demolished according to traditions. This is because he committed suicide which is a taboo in their customs. There will also be no funeral ceremony to mourn the deceased.
